ISO 26262 Compliance for Advanced Automotive Braking Systems

TRW Automotive, a global leader in electronic braking systems—first-to-market with its Electric Park Brake (EPB) in 2001 and with more than 15 million EPB calipers deployed worldwide—needed to automate many of the key activities required to achieve ISO 26262 functional safety compliance for its EPB system.

TRW selected Vector Software’s VectorCAST platform (VectorCAST/C++, VectorCAST/Manage, and VectorCAST/Cover) to provide automated unit and integration testing, code coverage analysis, and continuous integration. The solution helped engineers detect defects early, raise software quality, and deliver the tooling and process support needed to meet ISO 26262 requirements.
