Case Study: Nord-Micro achieves rapid DO-178B structural coverage for cabin pressure control systems with Vector Software (VectorCAST)

Nord-Micro, Hamilton Sundstrand’s Frankfurt-based business unit, develops automatic cabin pressure control systems for commercial and military aircraft. Facing a tight schedule and limited resources, the team needed to demonstrate DO-178B structural coverage for its CPCS software as quickly as possible to meet certification and safety requirements.

To meet the challenge they chose VectorCAST to test Ada applications built with the AdaCore GNAT Pro HIE compiler and used Abatron’s JTAG interface and debugger for target access. By using VectorCAST/Ada for unit and integration testing and VectorCAST/Cover for code-coverage analysis, the team achieved the required DO-178B structural coverage in minimal time while conserving engineering resources.
