EADS uses VectorCAST for DO-178B Development

EADS Defence Electronics in Germany needed to meet DO-178B structural coverage requirements while minimizing time and resources for avionics projects such as the A400M transport and the Eurogrid Tactical Maneuver Computer (GEP) for the Eurocopter Tiger. The primary challenge was achieving the required level of code coverage efficiently under tight development constraints.

EADS selected VectorCAST for its tight integration with the Green Hills toolchain and high automation, enabling fast, repeatable coverage testing. Using VectorCAST (including VectorCAST/Cover, VectorCAST/C++, VectorCAST/RSP and its DO-178B qualification materials), the Tiger project reached 99.55% Level C coverage in 2.5 months; VectorCAST has been used on EADS projects since 2004.
