Cassidian Efficiently Achieves 100% Structural Coverage Using VectorCAST Solutions

Cassidian, an EADS company and leader in global security systems, developed the EuroGrid Tactical Maneuver Computer’s Graphical Elevation Processor (GEP) for the Eurocopter Tiger. The team faced the challenge of meeting the rigorous DO-178B structural coverage requirements for safety-critical avionics software while using minimal time and resources.

They selected VectorCAST for its tight integration with Green Hills MULTI and INTEGRITY and high automation. By combining VectorCAST/Cover for system-level coverage and VectorCAST/C++ for unit testing, the team closed coverage gaps and achieved 99.55% DO-178B Level C coverage in 2.5 months with one engineer; the effort covered ~55,900 SLOC across 538 files and produced 408 complete unit test environments.
