Analog Devices needed to improve the efficiency and quality of testing for signal-processing algorithms used in high-speed audio and video encoding/decoding on its Blackfin processors. Although not subject to regulated testing requirements, their previous approach was inefficient and left many module-level bugs to be discovered during integration.

Since 2008 Analog Devices has used VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/RSP to perform thorough unit testing and structural coverage analysis of its application software, which improved testing efficiency and overall software quality.
