Bell Helicopter, a Textron company, needed to certify two software systems for the new commercial Bell 429 helicopter: the Flight Control Computer (DO-178B Level A) and the Aircraft Data Interface Unit (DO-178B Level B). Bell used VectorCAST/C++, VectorCAST/RSP, VectorCAST/MCDC and the associated qualification materials to perform testing and achieve certification for the Bell 429.
