Specific Material Feed and Processing for Biomass Power Plant

EBL (Genossenschaft Elektra Baselland), a Swiss energy supplier, required a custom solution for feeding and processing waste wood and wood chippings for its biomass power plant in Pratteln. Their challenges included minimal space availability and the need for a large fuel storage volume. Vecoplan addressed this by designing and supplying a bespoke reception and processing solution.

Vecoplan implemented a complete system from material reception through to the furnace, employing a range of specialized equipment including conveyors, a disc screen, and a push rod discharger. This solution achieved optimal use of space and a large storage volume. The project was completed on a tight schedule, with assembly from March to August 2015 and controlled furnace operation commencing that December, ensuring reliable and secure plant performance for the customer.
