Skruf Snus, a manufacturer of high-quality snus and chewing tobacco, faced a challenge in comminuting returned and expired products, including their tins. The material's sticky consistency frequently clogged equipment, reducing throughput and requiring an economical and energy-efficient solution. They partnered with vendor Vecoplan to address this difficult processing task.

Vecoplan implemented a VAZ 1300 S shredder that was specially modified after extensive testing. The solution featured different blades and an optimized gate valve to handle the specific material, achieving a continuous process with a throughput of 1,000 kg per hour. The result was a reliable and efficient system that comminuted the tobacco material, making it ready for disposal.
