A Better Alternative to Cost-intensive Fossil Fuels

Votorantim Cimentos, a global cement manufacturer, needed to reduce production costs by replacing expensive primary fuels with secondary fuels like refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and shredded tires (TDF). The challenge was to handle these materials efficiently at their Turkish plant, requiring a high-throughput, dust-free system for receiving, storing, and conveying them over 280 meters. They enlisted vendor Vecoplan to design a solution involving specialized handling equipment.

Vecoplan designed and delivered a complete, balanced handling line featuring coordinated components, including VecoBelt tube belt conveyors, truck receiving stations, and storage systems. The entire plant works reliably with minimal maintenance, allowing Votorantim Cimentos to achieve its goal of a more energy-efficient and cost-effective production process using secondary fuels.
