SOLA, a group pioneering utility-scale solar projects in South Africa, faced the challenge of monitoring and optimizing the performance of its large-scale solar farms, the Selemela Solar Park (126 MWp) and Selemela Solar PV Project 2 (130 MWp). They partnered with the vendor meteocontrol for a comprehensive technical operations management solution.

meteocontrol implemented an integrated monitoring concept using its blue’Log XM system, including Data Stations X-Series, SCADA Centers for local operation, and the VCOM Cloud for analysis and alarming. The solution provided seamless integration, easy use, and all necessary data for optimization, with exceptional support. The result was an outstanding system that exceeded expectations, enabling SOLA to effectively manage these landmark projects which represent the largest corporate renewable energy Power Purchase Agreement in Africa.
