Redmud Green Energy automates 40 MWp solar power control with VCOM

The customer, Redmud Green Energy, faced the challenge of needing to protect its 40 MWp solar portfolio in South Australia from negative wholesale energy prices and to participate in Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS). To address this, they worked with vendor VCOM, which utilized its Remote Power Control Application and VCOM Cloud platform.

VCOM implemented its Remote Power Control (RPC) Application, developed in partnership with Y.E.S. Energy, to automatically control the power dispatch for the solar farms. The solution reacts within seconds of receiving a signal, providing rapid protection and enabling FCAS participation. This application is supported by VCOM's monitoring and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operation of the renewable energy assets.
