Case Study: MediView achieves ICD-10 compliance and a comprehensive, flexible benefits administration platform with VBASoftware

A VBASoftware Case Study

Preview of the Mediview Case Study

How Mediview turned benefits administration wishes into software reality, with VBASoftware

Mediview, a full‑service third‑party administrator in Austin, Texas, was struggling with an outdated benefits administration platform and needed a more comprehensive, flexible system to support ERISA and commercial plans, HMOs, 3‑Share limited benefit plans, county MAP plans and CHIP/STAR Medicaid. Their requirements included ICD‑10 compliance, auto‑adjudication, provider fee schedules, support for standard and non‑standard reporting and benefit codes, and integrated modules for eligibility, claims, billing, medical management and financial/reinsurance reporting. Mediview selected VBASoftware’s Virtual Benefits Administrator (VBA) to meet those needs.

VBASoftware quickly assessed Mediview’s wish list, implemented the VBA platform (contracted in early 2011) and worked closely with Mediview’s management and IT teams to migrate clients and meet the ICD‑10 deadline. The VBA solution handled CHIP and STAR plans, provided multiple eligibility segments for Medicaid, enabled auto‑adjudication and integrated customer service, billing and medical management, and proved responsive to client requests — outcomes Mediview cites as “great results” and uses exclusively for its CHIP/STAR administration.
