A Vasion Case Study
Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, a non-profit provider of short‑term rehab, sub‑acute and nursing home care in New Hyde Park, NY, faced costly and time‑consuming document duplication—admissions and Home Care were making 10–15 copies of patient files, overwhelming storage and slowing access. To solve this, the Institute engaged Vasion and deployed Vasion’s MaxxVault document management solution with Fujitsu scanners at departmental workstations.
Vasion’s MaxxVault centralized capture, indexed records (five key fields), and automated exports into the SigmaCare EMR, giving clinicians instant, single‑location access to up‑to‑date patient information. The solution eliminated repeated copying and inter‑site shipping, freed overcrowded file rooms for other uses, improved HIPAA/HITECH compliance and encryption, sharply reduced lost/misplaced files, and cut staff time spent on audits—delivering measurable space, time and cost savings and prompting other departments to request expansion of the Vasion solution.
