John Boner Neighborhood Centers (JBNC) supports 20 Near Eastside neighborhoods and works with over 11,000 individuals annually, but their consortium needed to modernize a paper-heavy Energy Assistance application process that aimed to help up to 33,000 vulnerable Marion County households. To streamline scheduling, document handling and state electronic processing, JBNC engaged Vasion and its cloud-based document management and workflow solution.
Vasion implemented a central, cloud repository with on-site scanning at 26 locations, automated workflows and an API for applicants to check application status, eliminating the need to courier paper across the county. The new Vasion system delivered instant secure access to up-to-date files, a dramatic decrease in lost or misplaced documents, reduced paper consumption and storage, faster retrieval and improved customer service for the Energy Assistance Program.
