Wipfli LLP, a top-25 accounting and consulting firm serving more than 60,000 clients with 1,800+ associates across 41 U.S. offices and locations in India, struggled with a cumbersome print environment: roughly 350 network and 50 USB printers, about 40 IT-managed print servers that were single points of failure, inconsistent printing from specialized tax software, time-consuming onboarding, and limited visibility into print costs. To address these issues, Wipfli evaluated and pilot-tested Vasion’s print-management solution (PrinterLogic and Vasion SaaS), seeking a way to simplify administration and improve reporting.

Vasion replaced Wipfli’s distributed print servers with a centralized solution featuring dynamic deployments, a self-service portal and integrated reporting. The vendor’s solution was integrated in a single workday, enabled new-office printer imports in about 15 minutes, and resolved tax-software printing problems while cutting help-desk calls. Vasion’s reporting let Wipfli identify high-volume users and cost-per-page opportunities, and the firm is on track to eliminate 40+ print servers across 43 offices—reducing management, patching and backup overhead and rolling the Vasion SaaS option out to clients.
