Kennewick School District - Customer Case Study

Kennewick School District, which operates 23 schools across nearly 35 locations and supports roughly 1,500 printers for about 3,000 staff and 19,000 students, was struggling with a print-server–based environment that caused slow print processing, scaling limits and time-consuming administrative tasks. Seeking a new approach that could also work with their chosen print-budgeting tool PaperCut, the district turned to Vasion and its deployment of the PrinterLogic print-management solution.

Vasion implemented PrinterLogic as a single, centralized server to replace four Microsoft print servers, added a self‑service printer installation portal and paired the system with PaperCut for accounting. The result, delivered by Vasion, was markedly faster, more scalable printing (no longer queuing jobs for minutes), simpler administration (one‑click installs and renames), and a sharp drop in helpdesk calls—one PrinterLogic server now handles the load of the previous four across the district’s ~1,500 devices, saving staff “hours and hours” of support time even before a formal cost analysis.
