A Vasion Case Study
Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), a public institution serving about 19,000 students across a main campus and three remote sites, faced a cumbersome print environment that relied on three print servers to manage roughly 350 printers. Seeking to reduce administrative overhead, eliminate print-server dependency, and give end users more transparency and self-sufficiency, OCCC selected Vasion’s print-management solution to streamline printing across its VDI and physical environments.
Vasion implemented a centralized print-management platform that enabled printer assignment to floating VDI pools, web-based AD provisioning, and self-service printer installation. As a result, OCCC decommissioned all three print servers, cut printer-support tickets from about 10–15 per week to only a couple per week, and dramatically reduced time-to-resolution for the remaining tickets—while empowering users to install printers and receive automated driver and setting updates within minutes.
