A Vasion Case Study
Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, a leading Indiana insurer with 138 local offices and roughly 300 printers supporting more than 1,200 employees and 450 agents, faced the costly prospect of upgrading Windows print servers at every site and the risk of sending print traffic over the WAN. To maintain automatic, location-based printer deployment without sacrificing performance or increasing driver conflicts, the company selected Vasion’s print-management solution (a centralized platform with direct IP printing and IP-range-based deployment).
Vasion replaced the distributed print servers with centralized administration and direct IP printing, automatically deploying printers by location while preserving user profiles. The implementation removed all 138 local print servers, eliminated driver conflicts, reduced service-desk calls, kept large print jobs local to improve WAN performance, and—by Indiana Farm Bureau’s estimate—saved hundreds of aggregate admin hours; the company completed a company-wide rollout in about two weeks.
