City of Garland eliminates print servers and decreases help desk calls by 75% with PrinterLogic

The City of Garland, Texas—a suburb of about 230,000 with 48 buildings and 42 departments—was struggling with a fragmented print environment: five unreliable print servers, driver conflicts across mixed Windows versions, and a high volume of print-related helpdesk calls that overtaxed a modest IT staff. To solve this, the City engaged Vasion and deployed Vasion’s print-management solution to replace the server-based infrastructure and simplify printer administration.

Vasion’s serverless print platform was integrated with Active Directory, enabled dynamic, location-based printer deployments and a user self-service portal, and provided centralized reporting for troubleshooting. As a result, the City of Garland eliminated all five print servers, reduced time spent on print management by about 75%, and cut print-related helpdesk calls by up to 75% while supporting ~400 printers and nearly 2,000 users—delivering rapid ROI and freeing IT staff to focus on other priorities.
