La Roche College, a private liberal arts college in Pittsburgh, was migrating to a VMware VDI environment but experienced printing failures with ThinPrint, unreliable group-policy printer deployment, and needed any new solution to work with its existing PaperCut print billing system. The college engaged Vasion to provide a print-management solution to replace ThinPrint and support a future-proof VDI printing architecture.
Vasion implemented a dynamic printer-management platform that deploys printers by Active Directory user/OU and network IP, integrates seamlessly with PaperCut, and offers a self-service install portal. As a result, La Roche resolved legacy printing problems, now supports eight labs with about 100 computers on the new system, eliminated frequent GPO-related downtime and user reboots, and achieved faster, more reliable printer deployments with measurable operational improvements.
