Kwik Goal, a Quakertown, PA sporting goods manufacturer that ships soccer goals, balls and accessories to 2,000 dealers, struggled with limited UPS PC-based shipping software and a data disconnect with its VAI System 2000 on the IBM iSeries. Shipping 150–300 parcels per day (over 250/day in peak season), the company faced costly, recurring interface updates and lacked real-time shipment visibility, hampering customer service and forcing frequent MIS involvement.
