Case Study: Kwik Goal achieves real-time shipping visibility and reduced development costs with Varsity Logistics' ShipSoft-Parcel

A Varsity Logistics Case Study

Preview of the Kwik Goal Case Study

Kwik Goal Scores with Supply Chain Software from VAI and Varsity

Kwik Goal, a Quakertown, PA sporting goods manufacturer that ships soccer goals, balls and accessories to 2,000 dealers, struggled with limited UPS PC-based shipping software and a data disconnect with its VAI System 2000 on the IBM iSeries. Shipping 150–300 parcels per day (over 250/day in peak season), the company faced costly, recurring interface updates and lacked real-time shipment visibility, hampering customer service and forcing frequent MIS involvement. Kwik Goal selected Varsity Logistics’ ShipSoft-Parcel to address these issues.

Varsity Logistics implemented ShipSoft-Parcel and integrated it with VAI’s pre-built System 2000 interface on the IBM iSeries, automating carrier selection, rate optimization, labeling/manifesting, consolidation and reporting. The solution delivered real-time shipment data company-wide, improved customer service, reduced development costs (avoiding several thousand dollars a year in code change expenses), and increased shipping capabilities and efficiency for Kwik Goal.
