Kia Motors, a global automotive design leader, needed a faster, more immersive way to review and refine car designs across teams in Europe and South Korea. Using Varjo’s mixed reality headset together with Autodesk VRED, Kia wanted to move beyond 2D screens and physical-only reviews to better evaluate photorealistic, real-scale models.

Varjo implemented a photorealistic VR/XR collaboration workflow that let Kia designers review virtual cars alongside physical models, overlay digital details on clay models, and collaborate remotely in the same virtual room. The result was much faster design reviews, with one process dropping from a minimum of four days to about one hour, while also improving detail visibility, reducing travel, and enabling more reliable global collaboration.
