Case Study: Lexington Park United Methodist Church achieves more predictable giving with Vanco eGiving

A Vanco Case Study

How Recurring Gifts Make Giving More Predictable

Lexington Park United Methodist Church, served by Vanco, faced unpredictable giving because many of its members were temporary contractors at nearby Naval Air Station Patuxent River and others had irregular attendance patterns tied to a charter school schedule. Seasonal travel, weather cancellations, and other mini-slumps made stewardship revenue inconsistent, prompting the church to look for a more regular way to collect gifts using Vanco’s online giving and ACH recurring donation tools.

Vanco helped the church run a recurring-giving campaign centered on its hosted online giving page and simple paper signup forms for ACH donations. The campaign quickly exceeded expectations, with more than 40 signups on the first Sunday against a goal of 50 ACH givers for the whole campaign, and the church later reported that ACH giving was sometimes higher than cash and check offerings. The church also saved money on envelopes and improved engagement by pairing Vanco’s giving solution with transparent storytelling and budget updates.
