Pekin Insurance Accelerates Decision Making with Data Migration to Snowflake’s Cloud Data Warehouse

Pekin Insurance, a U.S.-based insurer serving more than 900,000 policyholders, was modernizing its data environment but still faced major accessibility limits because data remained hosted on-premises. This led to slow insurance re-writing queries, delayed daily reports, and difficulty turning data into timely business insight. ValueMomentum helped Pekin pursue a migration to Snowflake’s cloud-based data warehouse to support faster, more scalable analytics.

ValueMomentum guided Pekin through the Snowflake migration across development, pre-production, and production, including infrastructure design, security, data movement, validation, and conversion of thousands of tables into SQL. The result was a more accessible and reliable data platform with near real-time reporting, improved uptime, and greater business agility. Pekin also expected about a one-half reduction in owning and operating costs year-over-year, with a one-third reduction in functional operational costs projected to help the project pay for itself by year end.
