A Valtech Case Study
TrygFonden, a Danish organization dedicated to public safety and health, faced the challenge of increasing the survival rate from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. Their ambition was to inspire more citizens to act as first responders and to register more automated external defibrillators (AEDs) into a national network. They partnered with Valtech, who utilized their technology expertise to build a digital ecosystem.
Valtech implemented a comprehensive solution, building the data infrastructure for the AED network and creating the HeartRunner website and app. This digital system allows citizens to learn CPR, register AEDs, and sign up to be alerted to nearby cardiac emergencies. The results have been significant, with over 120,000 people signing up as HeartRunners and more than 20,000 AEDs registered, contributing to a major increase in cardiac arrest survival rates in Denmark. Valtech continues to work with TrygFonden to optimize these life-saving digital touchpoints.
