A Valtech Case Study
Valtech partnered with Decathlon, a global sporting goods retailer, to solve a classic retail space problem. The challenge was to showcase large products like multi-person tents within only two square meters of physical store space, which was insufficient for a proper customer experience.
The solution was the creation of one of the first in-store virtual reality experiences. Valtech developed a functional VR platform using expertise in game design and Unity, simplifying the interaction to a single button for easy user adoption. The results were successful, with the VR experience deployed in 92 stores across 15 countries. It not only maximized display space but also increased average sales by providing customers with a better sense of product scale, leading to upsell opportunities.
