Gerald R. Ford International Airport Valo’s self-service intranet reduces reliance on email and increases engagement

Gerald R. Ford International Airport, the largest commercial airport in West Michigan with a staff of about 115, needed a first-time intranet to cut heavy reliance on email, centralize scattered documents, and restore internal engagement. They selected Valo (Valo Intranet), recommended by partner Red Level, to provide an easy-to-use, Office 365–based intranet that would let non-technical teams self-serve content without IT involvement.

Valo delivered a quick, cost-effective “intranet-in-a-box” built on SharePoint/O365 with features like a people finder, image sizing/compression, and a Fresh subscription for ongoing compatibility. The self-service solution let HR and Marketing post and manage content themselves, reduced internal email volume, brought previously offline departments online, and generated positive staff feedback within six months—employees saying “we love it”—while saving time and deployment costs.
