A new on-prem intranet for global construction company

Multiplex, a global construction contractor with more than 6,700 employees across four continents, needed a modern on‑premises intranet to replace its end‑of‑life SharePoint 2007 platform. The company wanted an easy‑to‑use interface, strong search, a central hub for news and documents, and to avoid bespoke solutions while leveraging its Office 365/SharePoint investment. Multiplex selected Valo and the Valo Intranet product to meet these needs.

Valo delivered an on‑prem Valo Intranet built on classic SharePoint 2016 and rolled it out in phases (UK live July 2018, Australia April 2019, with Middle East and Canada deployments in between), with Valo Premium Partner Pythagoras supporting the UK rollout. The solution created a branded central hub for news, documents and policies, added customizable search, a popular news carousel, people finder and flexible menus, and gave regional teams controlled governance. As a result, Multiplex now has a single, easy‑to‑navigate platform used across regions, clearer corporate branding, analytics‑driven content promotion, and a consolidated repository for operational information.
