A modern intranet on SharePoint for UK insurance company

Miles Smith, a London-based specialist insurance broker with 220 employees, faced an outdated intranet (Smithy) that few staff used — slow loading, separate credentials, poor search and limited customization. Valo implemented Valo Intranet on top of the company’s SharePoint environment (rolled out in July 2019), providing customizable content hubs, improved search, a People Finder and central 24/7 document storage. As a result, internal communications and document publishing are easier for non-technical staff, the intranet is now frequently visible on employees’ screens rather than attracting only “a handful” of monthly visitors, and Miles Smith benefits from a one-off license model; Valo’s solution has measurably increased engagement and centralized knowledge access.
