Stora Enso improves green liquor handling and cuts maintenance with Valmet G2 Clarifier

Stora Enso's pulp mill in Skoghall faced a challenge with its outdated green liquor filtration technology, which was installed in 1993. The mill sought a new solution from Valmet that would deliver high availability, lower suspended solid levels, and reduce their total cost for green liquor handling.

Valmet implemented its G2 Green Liquor Clarifier, a high-capacity solution designed for improved flocculation and lower capital expenditure. The project was delivered smoothly and on time. The results included high availability, easier operation, and significantly lower maintenance with no more issues from clogging. This led to a decreased need for acid washing, longer fabric lifetimes for other filters, and cheap running costs, fully meeting the mill's goals.
