Stora Enso Beihai Mill reaches 450,000-ton annual capacity with Valmet

Stora Enso's Beihai Mill, a major producer of high-end white cardboard in China, required a partner to ensure the reliability and stability of its equipment and to support its goals of sustainable development and continuous improvement. They chose Valmet, who had previously delivered a chemi-mechanical pulp line, an OptiConcept boardmaking line, and integrated automation solutions to the mill.

Valmet implemented solutions including a Breast Roll Shaker and blow box technology, which significantly improved product flatness, uniformity, and stiffness. This partnership, supported by Valmet's global expertise and remote Performance Centers, enabled the mill to reach its designed annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes and to target a new goal of 500,000 tonnes while improving quality and reducing emissions.
