Sappi Cloquet, a pulp mill, faced the technically challenging process of mixing ozone with fibers for pulp bleaching, which traditionally required two mixers in series to manage the highly reactive chemical. Valmet implemented its innovative single MC ozone mixer, which was designed to be so efficient it could replace the conventional two-mixer system. The solution was a success, resulting in significant annual energy savings and a major reduction in capital investment and maintenance costs for Sappi Cloquet. Valmet's technology proved to mix the ozone as effectively as the previous two-mixer configuration, validating the new approach.
