Olvi boosts emission control reliability with Valmet ESP and cuts maintenance breaks to zero

Olvi, a Finnish beverage company, was facing challenges with emission control at its Iisalmi brewery. Their existing multicyclone was not performing as planned for flue gas cleaning from their 4 MW power boiler. They sought an alternative solution to meet emission regulations and turned to Valmet for its electrostatic precipitator (ESP) technology.

Valmet delivered and installed a tailored, small-scale electrostatic precipitator, including engineering, ducting, and ash conveying. The solution provided Olvi with significantly improved reliability, excellent emission control performance, and a reduction in maintenance breaks to practically zero. Valmet's ESP also lowered the system's pressure loss and reduced the power consumption of the fan.
