Navigator Company boosts white liquor active alkali by 4.7% with Valmet

The Navigator Company's Cacia mill in Portugal faced the challenge of improving white liquor quality, stabilizing causticizing efficiency and sulfur/alkali indices, while also reducing lime and natural gas consumption. To address this, they partnered with Valmet for a comprehensive solution.

Valmet implemented its Recovery Liquor Analyzer and Advanced Process Control solution. This provided online liquor analysis and advanced controls, which stabilized the entire process. The results included a 4.7% increase in white liquor active alkali, a 2.3% increase in causticizing efficiency, and the elimination of overliming, delivering a strong return on investment.
