Kronospan reduces NOx emissions by 75% with Valmet

Kronospan, a global manufacturer of wood-based panels, faced the challenge of meeting tightening environmental regulations by reducing NOx emissions from their Ryomgaard mill in Denmark. To address this, they selected a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system from Valmet.

Valmet implemented a low-temperature SCR system tailored to Kronospan's requirements, which did not require re-heaters or gas burners. The solution successfully achieved a 75% reduction in NOx emissions, keeping them well within guaranteed levels with very low ammonia slip. The project was completed on schedule through smooth cooperation, and Kronospan reported high satisfaction with the system's performance and Valmet's responsive support.
