Klabin's Monte Alegre paper mill faced the large and complex challenge of implementing its annual maintenance shutdown, requiring a full production halt for eleven days. The mill partnered with vendor Valmet to manage this major shutdown, leveraging their field service and shutdown management expertise.

Valmet implemented the solution by leading a team of over 500 professionals, including approximately 65 of its own employees, who worked alongside the mill's personnel. Through careful planning, a focus on safety, and seamless teamwork, Valmet successfully executed the shutdown on schedule. The results included increased mill reliability and operational security, leading Klabin to continue its partnership with Valmet for the following year's shutdown.
