Jk Paper reaches 220 tonnes per day with Valmet

JK Paper, an Indian paper mill, faced the challenge of relocating and upgrading its fiberline and lime kiln to increase production capacity and advance its sustainability initiatives. They partnered with vendor Valmet, who provided equipment including a new TwinRoll press and reconditioned existing washers and screens, while also retrofitting the lime kiln.

Valmet's solution involved delivering new equipment, reconditioning and relocating existing machinery, and providing ongoing engineering support. The results were highly successful, with the mill achieving its production target of 220 metric tonnes per day in the lime kiln within three months and breaking a fiberline record of 428 tonnes per day. Valmet's support helped JK Paper significantly reduce water consumption by 752-800 metric tonnes daily and implement a methanol plant that converts waste gases into fuel, lowering costs and advancing environmental goals.
