Jiangmen Xinghui Paper cuts medium-pressure steam use by more than 30% with Valmet

Jiangmen Xinghui Paper Mill Co., Ltd. faced challenges with insufficient drying capacity and high energy consumption after increasing the speed of their paper machine. This lack of capacity impaired sheet quality and printability. Although their steam consumption was already at an industry benchmarking level, they needed to improve efficiency to maintain cost competitiveness. They partnered with Valmet to address these issues using Valmet's Air Dryer nozzle technology.

Valmet implemented a solution by replacing the mill's old air dryer nozzles with new, high-efficiency Valmet Air Dryer nozzles. This upgrade resulted in a reduction of medium-pressure steam consumption by more than 30%, significantly reduced air leakage and exhaust, and greatly improved printing quality. The project exceeded the customer's expectations, achieving energy savings of over 40% for some paper grades and eliminating a long-standing coating surface linting problem.
