Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang (IKPP) sought to further boost the runnability and performance of its PM 6 paper machine. The customer challenged vendor Valmet to identify areas for improvement, which led to a plan to review the entire doctoring process to address issues like breaks and holes in the paper.

Valmet implemented a solution that included replacing outdated doctor blade holders with its latest Valmet Doctor Holder Compact technology, along with doctor blades and control boxes. This resulted in a 50% reduction in maintenance time, a 3% increase in overall efficiency, and reduced downtime and inventory costs. Valmet's specialists provided continuous support, leading to significant cost savings and performance improvements for the mill.
