Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper cuts chemical use by 1% and saves 300k EUR/year with Valmet

The customer, Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP), faced a challenge in their Perawang Mill where their Fiberline 9 had high chemical and power consumption along with a low pulp temperature entering the O2 reactor. To address this, they worked with the vendor Valmet and invested in a Valmet SMF Mixer to increase mixing efficiency.

Valmet implemented their SMF Mixer solution, which improved the mixing process without reducing temperature. This resulted in a 1% reduction in chemical consumption and a 10°C temperature increase for the fiberline. The solution delivered significant cost savings for the mill, amounting to approximately 300k EUR per year.
