Ilim Group's Bratsk Mill starts up 980 t/h evaporation line remotely with Valmet

The Ilim Group's Bratsk Mill, a major pulp and paper producer, faced a challenge when the global pandemic prevented Valmet's specialists from traveling to their Siberian site to commission and start up a new evaporation line. This threatened to delay the project's critical final phase.

Valmet implemented a remote support solution, setting up a dedicated control room in Sweden to work in sync with the onsite team. Using digital tools, daily meetings, and remote access to the mill's data, Valmet provided 24/7 support for commissioning and start-up. This approach allowed Valmet to successfully supervise the project, resulting in the successful start-up of Russia's largest evaporation line in July 2020 without any reported delays.
