CMPC Papeles boosts BM 19 to 450,000 tonnes with Valmet

The customer, CMPC Papeles, sought to increase production and improve the quality of its folding boxboard at its Maule mill. To achieve this, the company partnered with vendor Valmet, utilizing a range of services and planning to install Valmet's new OptiCalender Metal Belt technology.

Valmet implemented several long-term service agreements covering performance, paper machine clothing, and consumables. This included the installation of the new metal belt calender, which was key to enhancing board bulk and surface quality. As a result, CMPC Maule increased its annual production from 360,000 tonnes to a planned 450,000 tonnes while improving product quality for the global market. Based on this success, CMPC expanded its cooperation with Valmet to another mill.
