Preview of the Burgo Ardennes Case Study

Burgo Ardennes stabilizes bleaching with Valmet, cutting chlorine dioxide use by 8.7%

The Burgo Ardennes mill in Belgium faced challenges with process stability and high chemical consumption in its pulp bleaching operation, making it difficult to achieve higher brightness targets. To address this, the mill partnered with Valmet for a solution involving new analyzers and optimization services.

Valmet implemented a solution that included a Valmet Kappa Analyzer, new Valmet Cormec5 inline brightness measurements, and advanced process control tools for Bleaching Optimization. This resulted in a 47.9% reduction in brightness variability and an 8.7% saving in chlorine dioxide consumption. Valmet's ongoing Performance Service Agreement ensures the stability of these improvements.
