Arauco’s Puerto Esperanza Mill completes shutdown with 19 Valmet specialists and zero safety incidents

Valmet provided field services expertise to support Arauco's Puerto Esperanza mill during a critical general maintenance shutdown. The challenge was to ensure operational reliability, asset integrity, and a safe restart of key process areas, including the boiler, lime kiln, causticizing, and fiber line.

The solution was implemented by a multidisciplinary team of 19 Valmet specialists from across South America and Sweden, who supervised critical maintenance and executed a technology upgrade on the bale presses. All activities were completed on schedule without any safety incidents. This successful execution strengthened the long-term performance of the mill's assets and reinforced Valmet's value proposition as a technical partner.
