Arauco Sucuriú Project reaches 70% civil progress with Valmet

The customer, Arauco, was constructing the world's largest single-phase pulp mill, the Sucuriú Project in Brazil, and required a comprehensive solution to deliver this complex industrial asset on schedule and within its projected CAPEX of USD 4.6 billion. Valmet was selected as the main supplier to provide an EPCC delivery of all key process islands and mill-wide automation systems.

Valmet implemented its complete suite of pulp mill technologies, including the fiberline, recovery boiler, drying area, and wood handling lines, all integrated by the Valmet DNA Distributed Control System. The solution was executed with strong discipline, achieving over 70% progress in civil works ahead of schedule. This performance, supported by the mobilization of thousands of workers, has kept the massive project on track for its planned startup in the second half of 2027.
