Arauco celebrates one year of textile pulp production with Valmet

The customer, Arauco, a Chilean forestry company, sought to innovate and enter the bioeconomy by launching textile pulp production at its Valdivia Mill, a first for the country's sector. To achieve this, they required a new, specialized production line and selected Valmet as the vendor to deliver it.

Valmet implemented a new production line for Arauco, which included reconditioning the cooking plant and installing a new pulp drying line. Despite significant challenges from the Covid-19 pandemic that required extensive remote support from global teams, the start-up was highly successful. The solution quickly achieved its target production and quality values. One year after implementation, the mill celebrated a production record for its new CREATE brand textile pulp, successfully capturing a niche market in South America. Valmet's technology and partnership were crucial to this outcome.
