Arauco builds world’s largest single-phase pulp mill with Valmet

Arauco, a global forest industry company, was undertaking the world's largest single-phase pulp mill project in Brazil and required a main supplier capable of delivering the complete mill with state-of-the-art technology. They partnered with Valmet to provide a full-scope solution including process technology, full-scope automation with the Valmet DNAe system, and flow control solutions.

Valmet delivered the complete pulp mill from wood handling to baling, featuring their latest continuous cooking and automation technologies designed for excellent energy efficiency and high environmental performance. The EUR 1 billion order resulted in the construction of a mill with a 3.5 million tonne per year capacity, which will generate significant excess bioelectricity for the local area and created employment for thousands at the peak of construction.
