APP's OKI Pulp and Paper Mill hits 8,630 ADT/day with Valmet

APP's OKI Pulp and Paper Mill, one of the world's largest, faced the challenge of meeting growing pulp demand with a new, cost-efficient, and sustainable production line. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Valmet to supply key technology for their greenfield project in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

Valmet implemented a comprehensive solution including the world's largest pulp drying machines, an evaporation plant, and a fossil fuel-free lime kiln system using biomass gasification. The results were exceptional, with the mill achieving multiple world production records and an annual output of 2.8 million tonnes of bleached hardwood pulp. Valmet's solutions also significantly upped the mill's sustainability performance by increasing efficiency and reducing emissions.
