APP OKI Pulp and Paper Mill commissions the world’s largest ash crystallization plant with Valmet

The customer, APP OKI Pulp and Paper Mill, faced a challenge with non-process elements like chlorine and potassium causing corrosion and plugging problems in its recovery boiler. To control these levels, Valmet provided an ash crystallization solution.

Valmet implemented its ash crystallization technology, which is fully energy-integrated into the evaporation plant. This was Valmet's first delivery of such a plant and the largest of its kind in the world. After some initial adjustments were made in collaboration with the mill's staff, the solution successfully kept chlorine and potassium amounts at the right levels, solving the customer's challenge.
