Using Email Authentication to Quell Phishing Attacks and Improve Deliverability Rates

VTS, a New York–based SaaS platform that helps commercial real estate owners manage and lease properties across some 6 billion square feet, was targeted by repeated spear‑phishing attacks that impersonated executives to trick employees into wiring money. At the same time, critical customer and product emails were landing in recipients’ spam folders, threatening both security and deliverability for a company that relies on email as a core part of its service.

VTS implemented Valimail’s Email Authentication Service to automate DKIM/SPF/DMARC deployment and monitoring, moving to full enforcement within 90 days. The result: phishing using VTS.com addresses is now blocked, deliverability to customers has greatly improved, and IT gained visibility into previously unknown email senders — Valimail has authenticated about 2.5 million messages and blocked roughly 150,000 suspicious emails since enforcement.
